Harold looked around to make sure nobody was listening.<\/p>\n
“How on earth did you make it through the night?”<\/p>\n

Harold leaned closer.<\/p>\n
“Weren’t you worried about your heart?”<\/p>\n
Arthur calmly poured himself a cup of coffee.<\/p>\n

“Then what happened?”<\/p>\n

“At our age, my friend, you don’t try to compete with youth.”<\/p>\n
Harold nodded slowly.<\/p>\n
“Okay…”<\/p>\n
“You simply let nature take its course.”<\/p>\n
Harold frowned.<\/p>\n
“What does that mean?”<\/p>\n
Arthur smiled.<\/p>\n
Then leaned closer.<\/p>\n
“She fell asleep before I did.”<\/p>\n
Harold nearly spit out his coffee.<\/p>\n
Arthur burst out laughing.<\/p>\n
“You should have seen your face!”<\/p>\n
Harold shook his head.<\/p>\n
“You’re impossible.”<\/p>\n
Arthur smiled.<\/p>\n
“Age has its advantages.”<\/p>\n
Harold laughed.<\/p>\n
“Apparently.”<\/p>\n
Arthur took another sip of coffee.<\/p>\n
“Besides…”<\/p>\n
“What?”<\/p>\n
Arthur grinned.<\/p>\n
“At eighty, the most important thing isn’t stamina.”<\/p>\n
Harold raised an eyebrow.<\/p>\n
“Then what is it?”<\/p>\n
Arthur smiled.<\/p>\n
“Knowing when breakfast starts.”<\/p>\n
Harold laughed so hard he nearly dropped his cup.<\/p>\n

He simply kept whistling as he walked toward the pancakes.<\/p>\n
