\u201cThen why is this happening?\u201d<\/p>\n
I took a breath.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause your body is growing up. This is something that happens to girls. It doesn’t mean you’re sick, and you don’t have to be scared.\u201d<\/p>\n
She looked at the pad in her hand.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I don’t know how to use it.\u201d<\/p>\n
I smiled.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat’s okay. Nobody is born knowing how.\u201d<\/p>\n
The flight attendant discreetly brought us a small bag with a few extra supplies.<\/p>\n
I thanked her.<\/p>\n
Then I helped my daughter understand what to do, giving her privacy whenever she needed it.<\/p>\n

When we returned to our seats, my daughter leaned against my shoulder.<\/p>\n
