As he collected empty glasses, he slipped a folded napkin into my hand.<\/p>\n
Without looking at me, he whispered,<\/p>\n
“Please don’t let him see it.”<\/p>\n
My heart started pounding.<\/p>\n
I unfolded it beneath the table.<\/p>\n
One sentence.<\/p>\n
