During a tour of the facilities, he noticed a young man leaning casually against a wall while the rest of the room was full of workers.
Seeing the perfect opportunity to show everyone he meant business, the CEO walked over.
“How much money do you make?”
The young man looked confused.
“About $400 a week. Why?”
The CEO nodded confidently.
“Wait right here.”
He marched back to his office.
Two minutes later, he returned with $1,600 in cash.
He handed it to the young man.
“Here’s four weeks’ pay. Now get out—and don’t come back!”
The young man took the money and quickly left.
The CEO stood there proudly, looking around at all the employees.
He could practically feel the respect in the room.
Then he asked:
“Now, does anyone want to tell me what that goofball’s job was around here?”
A voice from the back of the room answered:
“Pizza delivery guy from Domino’s.”
The CEO’s face went completely blank.
Nobody said another word.
