If I Don’t Wake Up Tomorrow – A Letter to My Daughter
My precious daughter,
If I don’t wake up tomorrow, there is something I want you to carry with you for the rest of your life.
You were the greatest gift I was ever given.
From the moment I first held you, my heart belonged to you. I didn’t always get everything right, and I know I wasn’t a perfect mother. But there was never a single day when I didn’t love you with every part of my heart.
You never had to earn my love.
You were worthy of it from the very beginning.
And you always will be.
When life becomes difficult—and it will sometimes—remember that you are far stronger than you believe. There will be moments when you question yourself, when the world feels heavy, and when your heart feels tired. In those moments, stand a little taller.
Know your worth.
Speak your truth.
Never shrink yourself to make someone else comfortable.
Walk away from anyone who cannot love you with the kindness and respect you deserve.
Be gentle, but never weak.
Be compassionate, but never allow anyone to mistake your kindness for permission to hurt you.
Keep your faith close. Walk with God, trust His timing, and remember that even on the days you feel alone, you are never truly by yourself.
Love deeply.
Forgive when it brings you peace.
Dream boldly.
Laugh often.
And never stop believing that beautiful things are still waiting for you.
If you ever miss me, close your eyes and remember the sound of my voice, the warmth of my hugs, and the countless times I told you how proud I was of you.
Because I was.
I always will be.
I hope that whenever you look in the mirror, you see not only yourself but also the love I poured into your life. Let that love become your courage when you’re afraid, your comfort when you’re hurting, and your strength when life feels overwhelming.
No matter how many years pass…
No matter how far life takes you…
My love for you will never end.
It will live in every lesson I tried to teach you, every memory we shared, every prayer I whispered for you, and every beat of your heart.
You were, and always will be, my greatest blessing.
So if tomorrow comes without me, don’t let grief steal the beautiful life I always wanted for you.
Live bravely.
Love generously.
Smile often.
Find joy in the little things.
And whenever you think of me, don’t remember my last day.
Remember all the days we laughed together.
Carry those moments with you.
That is where I’ll always be.
Forever and always,
Mom
